Another piece from a typography class I took one summer. I took this class because generally, you don’t get a lot of design classes in an animation degree. Most of my work is hand drawn animation, so I rarely use typography in my work.

This assignment was to design a poster for a play. I’m not a big theater person myself, so I chose to make a poster for the fictional play The King in Yellow from the book The King in Yellow by Robert W Chambers. We had to include the name of the actors and a location, so I chose names from the book and a theater here in NYC.

I had several thumbs made, but I loved how the brushwork came out in this piece so much it was the one I decided to bring to completion.

Made digitally with Photoshop.
