I took a Continuing Ed class about the art of illustration one summer because I was debating whether or not I wanted to pursue my MFA in Illustration. This class definitely pushed me in that direction, and this was one of the assignments I was given.
We were told to make a book cover for Anne Lamott’s book Bird by Bird. At the time, I was very into embossed Victorian book covers and I wanted to take a swing at making my own. I’m very pleased with the font choice and textures in this.
Made digitally with Photoshop.
